because for us, family is the beginning and end of everything.
In terms of choosing a career, people always say “find your passion” as if there is one single passion out there for everyone. I’ve never been able to identify a single passion of mine because I have many interests and talents - which oddly has always made me feel lost and inadequate as a student and as a professional. Yes, I identify as a graphic designer with a BFA in Visual Communications from Truman State University (go Bulldogs!!), but I’m also a mom, wife, a middle sister, aunt and daughter; an illustrator, hand-letterer, photographer, crafter and diy-er. I enjoy making lists, organizing and budgeting. I’m a home-body with a serious sweet-tooth who is perfectly content doing the laundry, can kill it in the kitchen (at least according to my husband) and is an expert at singing and dancing to nursery rhymes.
So while I might be passionate about any one of those things on any given day, I’ve decided to make my life revolve around what makes me the most happy, and that’s spending time with my family and friends. After four years at a corporate design job, I knew something had to change. My dream is to use my skills to create memorable experiences for people and their loved ones that celebrate life’s biggest moments while also having the time and energy to do the same for my family. And the best part is, I get to do all of this with Kate, who is not only my little sister, but my best friend.
I'm an artist, designer, little sister, wife and, best of all, mama to the sweetest little girl I know. I graduated with a BFA in Fashion Communication from Stephens College in 2015, and have been pursuing design, photography, lettering and painting ever since. I'm completely self-taught when it comes to art and illustration, but I love the challenge and uniqueness it brings to my work.
Weddings have always had a special place in my heart. I started planning my own long before I ever met Tyler. So owning a wedding stationery business is the dream job I always knew I wanted. I'm so excited to finally be able to share my passion for beautiful paper with brides-to-be. I'm a total sucker for a good love story!
I think that true happiness comes from spending meaningful time with the people you love most. I find the most joy in designing a life that is beautifully curated, but imperfect all the same. I don't get out of bed before 8 a.m., I work best in the mess, and I have, on more than one occasion, eaten all of the ice cream after Joselyn's gone to bed. God gave me the best sisters. Most people would tell you that Sara and I are basically the same person, but she's also the yin to my yang, which is what I love most about working with her. Her goofy, caring personality is infectious, and I'm so lucky to call her my best friend and now business partner!
